East London Airport to undergo major renovations

East London Airport is planning major renovations, with work expected to start next year.
Renovations will include the installation of a rainwater harvest system for the firefighting section, a R215m multi-storey parking lot, a R72m expansion of the departure lounge, a R21m solar plant, and a R27m extension of the existing apron, according to Dispatch Live.
The expansion of the departure lounge is in a bid ease congestion during peak periods and thereby improve the passenger experience. There are no expected disruption to flights and passenger convenience would remain a priority.
